PERSHORE lost by one wicket in a thrilling finish to their Worcestershire County Cricket League Division One clash with Romsley and Hunnington.

Pershore totalled 201-9 thanks to John Brookes' 80, but despite South African Leon Botha taking 7-80 in reply, the visitors just scraped home.

Pedmore were the only other winners in the division as the weather had its say, winning by nine wickets at Chaddesley Corbett.

They closed the gap to 15 points on leaders Old Elizabethans, whose game at Bromyard was called off.

Evesham moved 15 points clear in Division Two with a seven-wicket success over Worcester Nomads.

The visitors were restricted to 153-9 despite 60 from Simon Harris, Quinn Jones taking 4-42, and Phil Jones' unbeaten 58 saw Evesham home.

Feckenham moved into second with a six-wicket win over Eastnor.

Rob Francis had a fine all-round display in their winning draw at Lye, hitting 55 with the bat in a total of 233-4 and taking 4-55 with the ball as Lye closed on 100-8.
