A NURSERY business has been given permission to replace a storage and packaging building with a larger structure.

Numerous objections had been raised to Ridgeway Haven Nurseries plans, which originally showed a building 11ft high, later reduced by 3ft.

Malvern Hills planning officers said this was more in keeping with other buildings on the Little Witley site - five glasshouses used for growing cherry tomatoes.

The storage building, incorporating a rest room and toilets, will still be much larger than the one it replaces.

But it will be screened from neighbouring houses by a beech hedge.

It will enable work previously done outside to be moved under cover and planning officers considered this would improve the appearance of the site.

The northern area planning committee of Malvern Hills District Council has imposed numerous conditions on its use and working hours, to safeguard the visual and residential amenities of the area.
