A GARDEN centre is celebrating success at last week's Chelsea Flower Show.
Wyevale Garden Centres - which operates 122 garden centres nationally and has its head office in Kings Acre Road, Hereford, - scooped gold for its Wyevale Globe Garden.
It is the firm's seventh gold medal since it first started exhibiting at Chelsea in 1992.
The Wyevale Globe Garden was a small courtyard garden featuring two newly - introduced plants. The climbing Clematis Crystal Fountain adorned the fence and trellis, while the white and green Galega Coconut Ice lifted the planting.
The garden was called the Globe Garden because of its central paved circle and globes of rosemary.
"We are delighted to have won another gold and hope that our garden will enthuse gardeners and non-gardeners alike," said Roy Treherne, Wyevale's horticultural consultant.
Another local entry that did well was The West Midlands-Shizuoka Goodwill Garden, which picked up a Silver Gilt medal.
The Farmyard Garden was designed by the Julian Dowle Partnership, in conjunction with Chris Caligari Landscapes, of St John's, Worcester.
It symbolises the contrast between the Midlands' thriving economy and its beautiful, unspoilt rural areas.
Also picking up a silver medal was Fuchsiavale Nurseries, of Kidderminster. The company, which specialises in fuchsias and sells dozens of different varieties from its nursery in Worcester Road, won a Silver Flora award.
