INTERESTED as I am in the welfare of animals, I would like to draw attention to one aspect of the hunting debate that appears to be often ignored.

It is the total disregard many hunting people show to the residents' rights in the towns and villages that they invade during the course of the hunt.

There are numerous instances of hunt meets crashing through private gardens and damaging property.

Public highways are often blocked by hunters, causing misery to motorists and out-of-control hounds are a safety hazard.

I cannot think of any other groups of people that would be allowed to cause such public chaos.
