ANIMAL lovers who can offer a caring home for stray and abandoned dogs are being urged to contact Hereford Animal Aid.
The organisation currently has a problem with re-homing collie and collie cross dogs, a number of which have been in foster care for a considerable time and are desperately in need of permanent new homes.
"We have some lovely dogs available for homing who have been in our care for too long," said a spokesman for Hereford Animal Aid.
"Collies are generally faithful, intelligent dogs who can make an ideal family dog but they do tend to get passed over for cuter breeds.
"Unfortunately the problem of stray and abandoned dogs is on-going, every day there are more and more left to fend for themselves.
"It is vital that we re-home the existing dogs as quickly as possible to allow the incoming dogs the chance of a fresh start in life."
"Anyone interested in giving one of our dogs a home please telephone Carol on 01885 482967 or Ida on 01432 830532."
