A FAMILY business that has been in Malvern for 80 years has closed.
Wireless Supply Ltd finally shut up shop in Barnards Green earlier this month, although stores in Pershore and Evesham and Chipping Camden still remain.
The Upton branch also closed earlier this year.
The store was started on Madresfield Road in 1922 by Lionel Mansell, while at the same time Charles Clemens started a similar business in Pershore.
With the outbreak of World War Two, Mr Mansell sold the Malvern business to Mr Clemens. Over the years, ownership passed to Mr Clemens' son and then grandson, Michael Clemens, who now runs the stores with his wife Barbara. The Malvern business was moved to Barnards Green in the early 1980s.
Mr Clemens said that trying to run all five branches proved too much of a task and thanked all the past customers.
"Barbara and myself are not getting any younger and, as our children work in other industries, we sadly took the decision to close both our Upton-upon-Severn and Malvern stores to reduce our workload," he said.
