Kidderminster's music scene will be bringing its biggest pop and rock sounds together in support of Kidderminster Hospital.

A series of gigs will be held in Kidderminster and Stourbridge to help drum up funds for much-needed equipment for a GP unit and a rehab unit at the hospital.

Weak 13, AK His Majesty's Circle and Birmingham band Crux South, who are on M.A.S. Records, Kidderminster College, will be just some of the names on the bill.

"The GP unit in block A and the rehab centre in C block haven't got enough funding," said Claire Berry, event organiser.

"Any money raised will go towards equipment and new beds."

Claire said bands from Kidderminster College, bands on the college's record label and bands from around the area would all be taking part in the event.

"The music of the bands playing is mostly rock/indie sounding, like Sum 41," she said.

All the bands have donated tracks to be included in a 15-track CD which will be sold to generate money for the cause.

Curb, Candyshell, Puppets and AK His Majesty's Circle will be appearing at Ye Olde Seven Stars, Coventry Street, Kidderminster, on Sunday, May 26.

Weak 13, Team Creak, Another 6 Weeks, Curb, Crux South and AK His Majesty's Circle will be playing at Rock Cafe 2000, Mill Race Lane, Stourbridge, on Sunday, June 9.

Entrance is £3.

The Amateurs, Curb, The Bull Frogs, Superreal and Superseed will be some of the names playing at the final gig on Sunday, July 21 at The Boars Head, Worcester Street, Kidderminster.

Donations can be made to the hospital at The Boars Head and Ye Olde Seven Stars.
