AN American judge has commissioned a furniture designer based in Bransford to build a table for his chambers in Washington DC.
Jeremy Cornwell, who lives in Malvern and works out of the Foal Yard Gallery in Bransford, has spent the past six weeks working on the one-off eight feet long table with fellow craftsman Keith Spencer.
The commission came after Jeremy's work was spotted by Judge Timothy B Dyk.
Judge Dyk, who works at the United States Court of Appeal and needed the boardroom table for his chambers opposite the White House, first saw his work at The Bristol Guild craft gallery and liked it so much he visited his workshops.
He then commissioned the work, which is made from a European White Oak and inlaid with squares of black walnut.
Jeremy said: "Although it's a relatively simple functional design the inlay detail and the amount of hand finishing required mean it is quite time consuming, but we are very pleased with the finished piece."
