A KNIGHTWICK chef has won two tickets for Talk of the Town at Malvern Theatres in a Gazette & Reporter menu competition.

As well as tickets to the stylish new show being held at the Forum on June 14, Nick Hurt will receive champagne and entrance to another production of his choice.

His win came after submitting a two-course menu with vegetarian alternative in line with a 1950's theme.

Nick, who works at The Talbot, said: "It is great to win and the evening promises to be a lot of fun. This is a lovely summery dish that people ate in the 50's. It should be delicious."

The dish includes chicken with cucumber (browned chicken with a white wine and fresh cucumber cream sauce) served with new potatoes and sugar snap peas, or pasta with wild mushroom sauce and parmesan, and vanilla-sugared pears with strawberry puree for desert.

In what is the first ever Talk of the Town, the 17-piece Malvern Big Band will perform with talented young Canadian singer Sharen Lau, while vocal virtuoso Marc Drew provides classic swing.

Tickets for Talk of the Town dinner dance are £20 or £30 with dinner from 01684 892277 or www.malvern-theatres.co.uk.
