THE free open day at the Hall on May 25 will give an opportunity to try out two courses - garden design with specialist writer Fiona Hopes from 10am-noon; and French conversation from 2pm-4pm with experienced teacher Bridget Halpern. If you want to enrol for either course or get more information contact Nadine Kinsey on (01432) 260193.

The computer course for beginners started on Tuesday (May 21) from 1pm-4pm. The nine week course costs £30, places are limited and enrolment is through Nick Gurney (01432) 267820 or Neville Shorrick (01531) 633475. This is a great chance to learn the basics without travelling outside the village. Provided there are sufficient people interested it is hoped to run a six week Pilates fitness session. This is due to start on Wednesday, May 29 in the Hall from 6.30pm-7.30pm. The experienced tutor will be Meriel Simon and the fees will be £21 for the whole course or £3.50 per session. Please enrol through Meg Hughes 07980 277085 or book in on the day.

The Wellington Heath Parish Meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 28 in the Memorial Hall starting at 7.30pm. It is an important meeting especially for those interested in the Neighbourhood Watch Scheme which operates in the village as the Wellington Heath beat manager PC Leadon will be present to talk about Neighbourhood Watch and answer any questions you might have concerning policing in the village.

The programme for the whole evening will be as follows: the AGM will start at 7pm in the committee room and at this meeting the chairman of the parish council will be elected for the coming year. At 7.30pm the parish meeting will start in the main Hall. This is a meeting in which the agenda is set by you. There will be a report of the last year and the accounts (your opportunity to see where your money is being spent!) and then the beat manager will talk about Neighbourhood Watch. The rest of the agenda will be matters raised by you, the residents of the village. Please make an effort to come, so that the majority of households are represented at this very important meeting.
