A CAMPAIGN to kickstart services for people suffering from ME is being launched throughout the county.

The Worcestershire ME Support Group is joining in a postcard campaign aimed at provoking action by asking what plans are in the pipeline for specialist support for ME patients.

It is estimated around 2,160 people across the county suffer from ME.

The condition causes profound exhaustion, muscle pain, memory loss, poor concentration and other symptoms.

Sufferers believe they have very little support from the NHS, and feel they should be seen every few months by GPs so their progress is monitored.

The campaign has been supported by national charity Action for ME, and follows the recent publication of a Government report into the condition.

Anyone interested in the campaign should contact Ian Logan on 01886 888419, or attend the group's meetings at Unity House, Stanley Road, Worcester, on the second Wednesday of each month from 2pm to 4.30pm.
