SHOPPERS will soon be able to pick up advice with their groceries at a Worcester supermarket.

County Councillor John Buckley will be joined by city MP Mike Foster when he holds the first in-store surgery amid the shopping aisles at Sainsbury's, in Blackpole, tomorrow.

The St Martin's ward councillor then plans to be in the Windermere Drive store between 9.30am and noon on the last Sunday of every month.

He will also hold a surgery in the Warndon branch of Tescos on the fourth Friday of every month.

"The purpose of these surgeries is to give people the opportunity to view their concerns and issues while carrying out their normal shopping activities, therefore making it easy to contact their local representative," said Coun Buckley.

"This has been done in various other parts of the country, but this is the first time it has been done here. But it's totally non-political."

"The managers of both stores have been extremely helpful."
