THE plight of Worcester families will feature on a national television programme to highlight the problem of floods in the city.

BBC1's On The Record programme to be broadcast on Sunday, May 26, spent the day with the Worcester Action Against Floods Committee.

The programme will also feature MP Mike Foster, who is chairman of a cross-party group of MPs with constituencies affected by floods.

Waverley Street and Hylton Road are two parts of the city that feature on the programme, which is presented by John Humphries.

"This problem is not going to go away," said Mary Dhonau, chairman of WAAF and Waverley Street resident.

"Something good will come out of this as it is a high-profile programme.

"It's going to raise the issue yet again."

The programme will be broadcast at noon.
