MY time as Mayor of Stratford-upon-Avon has drawn to a close and Norman and I are looking forward to drawing breath, having a lovely holiday and having time to spoil our grandchildren again.

It's been a year of wonderful occasions, I have met so many interesting and talented people. I've been privileged to sit on various committees, and have been involved with numerous charitable organisations and fund raising activities for all sorts of very worthwhile causes.

I've laughed myself helpless, I've been moved to tears and I've enjoyed every moment!

The good people of Stratford-upon-Avon have offered me so much support, you've helped me through thick and thin and I am so proud to have had the privilege of representing you as Mayor of this fine town.

Thank you all so very much indeed. I shall of course continue to work tirelessly for the Guild and Hathaway ward but it's now time to pass on my responsibility to Councillor Vince Seaman who I know will be as proud to represent you as I have been.

COUNCILLOR SHEILA PRICE, Mayor of Stratford, Town Clerks' Office, Rother Street, Stratford.
