STUDENTS from a Kidderminster dance studio have been given a huge pat on the back after their debut musical was a sell-out success for the second time in six months.
Fame, produced by Limelight - an association formed from parents and friends of young people from Kidderminster-based Splinters Dance Studio - was seen by about 1,600 people during its five-show run at Stourport Civic Centre last week. cast members Kate Jones, 19, Becki Edwards, 19, Joe Hall, 18, front, Nick Swift 17, Chris Oliver, 17, and Sadie Owen, 17, preparing for one of the sell-out performances.
Enthusiastic audience-goers also packed the centre last November for the first run of David De Silva's portrayal of the hopes, dreams and aspirations of students at New York's High School of Performing Arts, set in the 1980s.
And feedback slips filled in by thrilled audiences were unanimous in their praise of the production.
Limelight chairman Linette Tatton-Brown said the group would be looking for another musical to stage next year.
