Margaret Mills will attend the IGM on June 6, when the first resolution is in favour of small abattoirs in order to minimise stress to animals and reduce the risk of spread of disease. The second resolution urges the NFWI to put pressure on the Government to implement stricter controls on the importation of foodstuffs into Britain. Members voted for both resolutions to go forward.
The June 10 meeting is a "Jubilee Evening" when members are asked to dress in red, white or blue.
The competition will be for a home-made crown, and there will be an American supper.
