NORTH Cotswolds Young Cricketers completely outpl-ayed Tewkesbury to earn an impressive 87-run victory at Under-12 level.

After a cautious start they went on a run spree with Stuart Phillips and Alex Dancer racing to a 29-run partnership. Aggressive and undefeated knocks from Luke Fisher (26) and Ben Hughes (19) enabled NCYCC to amass 292-3.

Tewkesbury never recovered from the loss of four early wickets with the main destroyers Andrew Fisher (4-2) and Ben Hughes (2-2) as Tewk-esbury tumbled to 205.

Both Under-13 teams struggling to overcome a rain affected pitch as Bredon snatched victory.

Dave Simmons claimed 3-12 in a hostile opening burst, but sound batting from Richard Spencer (13) and Tom Payne (14) helped NCYCC to reach 223-7.

Despite a lively spell from Oliver Coombes (3-10), Sim-mons and Pat Gibb weighed in with a 21-run partnership to steer the home side to 229-3 in the last over.

Tewkesbury Under-14s got off to a slow start against the NCYCC attack. However, the visitors picked up the run rate in the middle order with a 20 run partnership between John Allcoat and Jim Bond.

A brisk 21 not out from Brian Bowers enabled Tewkesbury to post 237-3. Rob Payne (2-12) was NCYCC's most successful bowler.

A good knock from skipper Alex Green (17) got the reply off to a positive start. Tom Clarkson and Matt Spencer maintained the momentum scoring 23 runs between them to put NCYCC in the driving seat and a comfortable 30-run win as they closed on 267-3.

Shipston's Under-14s, meanwhile, overcame Alvechurch by 130 runs in a friendly on Sunday.

There were fine half-centuries from Matthew Corby (71) and Richard Glover (52) in a daunting home 40-over total of 228-5. Sam Hince chipped with an unbeaten 31 while captain Jack Murphy scored 24.

Alvechurch then slumped to 98 all out with Sam Bishop claiming three wickets for just one run.

Pete Buchanan (3-15), Ben Godson (2-10) aided by some outstanding catches, completed a superb all-round show.
