ONE Kidderminster Harriers supporter was particularly delighted when left-back Scott Stamps confirmed his commitment to the club by signing a new two-year contract.

Pat Footitt was constantly frustrated when Stamps missed out on the sponsors' man-of-the-match accolade at home games and then he was snubbed in the end-of-season awards.

So she decided to make her own man-of-the-season presentation to him at the final home game.

Pat, of Kidderminster, said: "I couldn't believe that he never used to win the sponsors' man of the match award at the end of games.

"For me, he's been a very committed and talented player. But now he's loyal on top of that after signing a two-year contract.

"That signing has made the difference for me to really look forward to the new season.

"When I made the presentation, he was very surprised but also really quite chuffed. He then told me he would have to think about staying at the club."

Pat and her husband Cliff have watched Harriers since the late 1970s and they were the first to renew their season tickets at Aggborough for next season.

Though they had not been keen on former youth and reserve boss Ian Britton getting the manager's job, they are now determined to back him.
