CARPET firms taking part in an annual charity golf tournament have got fund-raising down to a tee after raising a record sum.
The Kidderminster Carpet Manufacturers National Golf Tournament has raised a massive £18,000.
Money will be split between MacMillan Cancer Relief and the Furnishing Trades Benevolent Association.
Event chairman Mike Hardiman said: "The tournament has always been very well supported by Kidderminster carpet manufacturers and this year was no exception.
"We had a record turnout of golfers and we are delighted to raise a record sum for two very well-deserving charities.
"We have been running the tournament for 46 years and we estimate we must have raised nearly £750,000 for charity."
The two-day event, held at Kidderminster Golf Club, attracted 340 golfers.
