BIG-hitting Neil Fletcher struck two centuries in consecutive matches for Cutnall Green at the weekend to claim his third Evening News/Duncan Fearnley Cricket Sales Ltd Cricketer of the Week award.

Fletcher, 24, walloped 142 against Newland in the Worcestershire County League Division Five including nine sixes and continued his rich vein of form the following day with 139 in a friendly against Old Vigornians.

His feat of two tons in a weekend was a first for Fletcher but the Royal Mail worker is no stranger to centuries having plundered more than 30 to his name already.

Last year he hit the headlines with seven centuries in the first two months of the season, eventually finishing with 11 for the season.

"It's the first time that I've scored two centuries in a weekend and I'm pretty pleased," he said. "We had rain on Friday and the wicket was covered so it was nice and dry and very easy paced and I managed to find the middle of the bat."

Fletcher has considered moving up to a better standard but admitted to having too much fun to switch just yet.

"I'm enjoying it too much at the moment and I've still got a few years to reach my peak but I will definitely be moving up a few leagues next year," he said.

"I've had a few offers but last summer I enjoyed it so much that I decided to stay for another season."

His decision has certainly paid dividends and Fletcher wins a £40 voucher to be spent at Duncan Fearnley Cricket Sales Ltd at Unit 10 Sherriff Street, Worcester.
