A TROPHY rounded Bewdley Town's season off in style as they beat Kidderminster League side Two Gates 4-1 in the Tony Tranter Cup final.
But it was only the finishing of Matt Allsopp and Grant Gibbs which proved the difference between the two sides at Kinver.
Two Gates were the better side in the first half and could have had a penalty when Bewdley keeper Ian Harvey brought down a forward only for the referee to wave play on.
Allsopp scored two good goals with the first a solo run from the halfway line when he beat several defenders before finishing well.
He then added the second with a stunning 50-yard lob over the keeper.
Gary Middleton and Neil Osborne combined to set up Gibbs who headed home at the near post 15 minutes into the second half.
Two Gates hit back when a mix-up between Harvey and his defenders allowed a tap-in to reduce the arrears.
But man-of-the-match Gibbs then raced clear and squared the ball for Allsopp to complete his hat-trick and the scoring.
Bewdley want to run a women's football team in the new Worcestershire League next season.
But they need interest from those aged 14 and above around the surrounding area.
Anyone interested should head to a women's open day at the Ribbesford Meadows club on Saturday, June 1, from 2pm.
