Police have urged elderly people in Wyre Forest to check the identity of callers at their doors by telephoning their company or organisation.
The advice follows an incident at 1pm on Wednesday, May 15 in Dunclent Crescent, Kidderminster, when a woman in her late 80s was conned out of £20 by a man. He claimed he would cut her hedge but disappeared after taking the cash for an apparent skip hire.
