ATHLETICS: A host of Kidderminster and Stourport athletes impressed as the club staged the Worcester County Championships.
Dave Hall won the 800m in the men's category and George Bourne's 6.09m won him the long jump title.
In the women's group, international Lucy Wright ran two minutes 17 seconds to take the 800m.
Alison Young was successful in the 300m hurdles in 52.6 seconds, Elizabeth Dourneen won the 1,500m in 5-04 and Sarah Dyde threw a best of 25.62m in the discus.
Other top-three placings, men: James Colclough (second, 400m, 51.4), Matt Grainger (second, 3,000m, 9-55), Tim Wilson (third, javelin, 28.91m).
Women: Wright (second, 1,500m), Dourneen (second, 300m hurdles), Dyde (second, 200m, 28.1; third, 400m, 1-01.2), Claire Baker (second, triple jump, 10.64m; second, long jump, 4.71m), Fay Kitchen (second, 1,500m, 5-05), Liz Danks (second, 800m, 2-24), Heidi Jarosinski (second, long jump, 4.77m), Laura Easton (third, 800m, 2-33), Charlotte Berrington (second, javelin, 20.77m).
Other results, men: Mike Willetts (fourth, 100m, 12.2; 200m, 25.0), Dave Bullock (fourth, 100m, 11.7), Daniel Bradley (fifth, 100m, 12.9), Aiden Dourneen (fourth, 800m, 2-23), Adam Grainger (fourth, 1,500m, 5-0).
Women: Young (fourth, 1,500m, 5-14), Jarosinski (sixth, 100m, 14.3), Berrington (fourth, 100m, 15.1).
Kevin Green clinched second overall and first for Kidderminster and Stourport in the mid-week 10km road race series at Kinver in 35-39.
Rob Chrzan was second for the club and ninth overall in 36-49 and Liz Gould was the first veteran lady overall in 38-57.
Other times: Gary Bonner 39-54, Gay Warrington 41-18, Kenny Morgan 41-55, Neil Kerr 43-28, Gillian Foote 44-33 for second veteran lady.
Five members took part in the Halesowen Hillock 10-mile race out of 140 runners.
Ian Townsend was first veteran 45 and sixth overall in one hour 7-57.
Gould again finished as first lady, recording 1-13-37 for 20th overall place.
