WORCESTER'S environmental health officers have been making some noise about how to have a quieter life.
As part of the National Noise Awareness day, officers from the department held an exhibition at the Guildhall outlining the different sources of noise pollution including DIY, dogs barking and stereos.
But technical officer Terry Ford said the main aim of the day was to promote the importance of those with burglar alarms to ensure the police had named key holders. He said having key holders, which by law have to be submitted to the police within 24 hours of fitting the alarm, was not only crucial in the event of a break in, it could also save money.
"As more people become more concerned with securing their home, the problem of alarms being set off accidentally is growing," he said.
