A NEW St Richard's Hospice shop is due to open in Upton-upon-Severn on Monday, after months of preparation.
Sixteen volunteers have come forward to staff the Old Street shop, which will be officially opened at 10am by the chairman of the hospice, Jeanie Young.
"People have been saving books, clothes and bric-a-brac for us and we're now busy stocking the shop ready for Monday's opening," said Danny Corns, of St Richard's.
Extended
"We'll be opening from 10am to 3pm daily."
Ideally, 20 volunteers are needed to work four or five hours a week and, if more people came forward, opening hours would be extended, in line with other St Richard's shops, to 9.30-4.30, he said.
The hospice, which cared for more than 1,000 patients in south Worcestershire last year, aims to establish shops in the areas it serves.
