WORCESTERSHIRE registered their second win of the season, beating Bedfordshire in an exciting match with a thrilling finish.

Saturday's play began with a 4-2 loss for the women's B, Carol Jones 14.74 won 3-0 as did Chris Glover who earned the match award for a 19.78 average.

The first six games in the men's B went to Bedfordshire.

Matt Turner won 3-2, Ray Cartmell, in his first county game and Matt Sheehan both won 3-1.

Tony Randell won 3-0.

Simon Well took the match award for a 3-0 win in 13, 25 and 18 darts.

Things were looking bleak for Worcestershire at the end of Saturday's play with an overall score of 7-11.

The women's A received a kick start from the enthusiastic Lorraine McCormack's 3-1 win.

Tracey Bishop lost the first leg but came back with good finishing to win 3-1.

Jackie Crew also won 3-1.

Woman of the Match was earned by Rachael Dixon.

She powered her way to a 3-0 win with great scoring 3x140, 3x100 in 17, 20 and 21 darts with an average of 25.91 which also earned the divisional award.

At 11-3 Mark Jones, 4x140, 4x100, won 3-1; Ray Bishop won 3-0; Paul Brookes won 3-1 and Jess Archer, 125, 123, 4x100 won 3-1 with a 123gs. Graham Perry put in another award-winning performance winning 3-0 in 20.17 and 20 legs.

Nail biters had nothing left to chew when the next two games went to the opponents to put them ahead 15-16.

Steve Watton and Lance Gregson then both won 3-2 to put Worcestershire one point away from victory with two games to play. The next game went to Beds.

So it was all on the last game, voices cheered as the task of winning the match fell to Tom White.

The game went to five legs.

Tom kept his cool even when he bust the first attempt to clock the win.

His opponent then missed and Tom made no mistake and took the game set and match for Worcestershire amid thunderous cheers.
