THE Malvern Football League staged its annual meeting when the yearly report and several presentations were made.

The main presentation of the evening was the election of Norman Simmons as a life member of the league.

Currently the chairman of the league, Simmons has been associated with the Malvern League since the age of 13 when he played local football.

He said he was delighted and proud to receive the award voted by the league's club representatives, who led by Talbot Head's David Benson and Kempsey United's Eric Bullock paid some glowing tributes to the veteran official.

The presentation of a framed life membership certificate was made to Simmons by the league's president, David Gwynne, during the evening.

James Seager and Matthew Gurney, joint managers of the Bull Allstars, also receiving awards during the evening. They were voted top in the Reg Box Manager of the Year Award and they collected their trophy from league vice-president Reg Box.

The Albert Lyndon Trophy, presented to the most sporting team of the season was made to Kempsey United. Their secretary Eric Bullock received the award on behalf of the team, who finished third in the league, finalists in the Sunday Senior Cup, when they lost to Club AC 30, and only received one on field caution all season.

Bull Allstars were Malvern League Division One champions with 19 wins from 20 games, while Church Hill United were the Malvern Youth Cup winners.
