MALVERN Town finished their Express and Star West Midlands League Premier Division season in ninth place, following Saturday's 2-0 home success against Heath Hayes.
MALVERN TOWN 2, HEATH HAYES 0
In a game that Town generally controlled, Lee Hooper might have twice put Malvern ahead in the opening ten minutes, but a lack of conviction in the young striker's finishing enabled the visiting keeper to save comfortably on both occasions. However, Town did take the lead after 20 minutes when Ricky Halion saw his drive bounce back off the Heath Hayes goalkeeper, but to only fall into the path of Mark Taylor who made no mistake from close range.
The second half followed a similar pattern, and shortly after a fierce effort from Hooper went close before Dean Roberts flicked a header on into the path of Halion, who drove the ball home from the edge of the box, to secure a 69th minute second goal and three points for Town.
