FORMER TV:AM presenter Anne Diamond could be catching up with her old Worcester school chums - if a reunion goes to plan.

Joy Reekie now lives in Derby, but she and two pals from the Worcester Grammar School for Girls are desperate to catch up with their mates from the class of 1972.

Mrs Reekie - ne Oakley - dreamed up the idea for next month's reunion with old girls Shelagh Paterson, now an ambassador's wife in Ethiopia, and Christine Ford, of North Carolina in the US, who will both be making the trip for the party.

So far, through www.friendsreunited.co.uk and posters in Worcester, 20 old girls have come forward.

But Mrs Reekie is looking to locate the other 130 from her year - including Anne Diamond.

"When we left school, we always said we'd meet again in 25 years' time," said the 48-year-old primary school teacher.

"But that passed.

"A couple of years ago, I started talking to Shelagh and Christine about getting together on the 30th anniversary."

The Berkeley Arms in Spetchley - close to the old grammar school, now the Sixth Form College - has been booked for Saturday, June 29, complete with 70s tribute band Gypsy.

"We want as many old girls as possible," Mrs Reekie said.

"The band will be playing 70s music and rock 'n roll.

"We're looking for girls who left after O-levels in 1970, lower sixth the following year, or upper sixth in 1972. But those from the year below or the year above will also be welcome, and partners are invited.

"It's not going to be a polite lunchtime buffet. It's a party, an evening bash."

Mrs Reekie said she would be contacting Ms Diamond's agent.

"It'd be great to have her there, not as a celebrity doing a star turn, but as one of our old friends," she added.

Mrs Reekie can be contacted on 01332 281544.
