I read with interest your feature (Thursday 2nd May) on Vale of Evesham Asparagus - a World Beater - has Mrs Gobie tried French Asparagus - the green variety of course.
Having lived in the Vale for 44 years and sampled asparagus in numerous places in the world I considered that from The Vale the absolute best, but having come to live in France and tried the green asparagus from Fontes two miles from where I live now I have to say that it is as good, if not better than The Vale - a taste of home!
