Glebe Farm B 0 - Redditch Kingfisher Juniors 6
This was the first meeting between these two teams and despite the score line, the first half was a very close affair.
Ben Marcle, making an
impressive debut for Kingfisher scored after 15 minutes, to give the Juniors a 1-0 half time lead.
Some fine tackling in defence by Dan Dyer in only his third game, helped keep the Glebe Farm forwards at bay.
The second half again started off evenly, and saw Kingfisher's
goalkeeper and Man of the Match Ryan Young making a brave save to keep the score at 0-1.
Eventually the superior size and strength of the visitors began to tell. Ben Marcle scored two more goals to complete his hatrick, while strike partner Matty Griffiths scored two.
Matty's second goal was set up unselfishly by Ben Marcle who, after beating two players, drew the goalkeeper out of position before squaring for Griffiths.
Kingfishers captain, Aiden Griffiths, scored a penalty from a foul he won himself, to round off a good day's work.
