TONY Windo has spoken of his delight after re-signing for Worcester Rugby Club.
The 32-year-old prop finally put pen to paper yesterday on a new one-year contract ending weeks of uncertainty over his future.
Windo has been waiting since the final game of the season at Moseley to hear whether he would be offered a new deal and was relieved to finally secure another contract.
"I'm pleased and relieved, a bit of both really," he said. "I'm delighted to be staying because I'm very happy at Worcester. There were a few offers but I always wanted to stay at Worcester. It was just a case of waiting to see what the coaches wanted.
Windo has been, for the second year in succession, an unsung hero at Sixways and has won a new deal for his sheer consistency over a season.
"I'm happy for the others to take the credit," he added. "I just get on with my job and try to be as consistent as possible. I was happy with my performances last season but it was disappointing that we couldn't win promotion."
