I WOULD like it to be known about the way my wife was treated at the "centre of excellence" otherwise known as the Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
She attended Kidderminster Hospital on May 8 for a pre-operation assessment, along with five more female patients from the Wyre Forest area.
This was all done efficiently and thoroughly.
Next day all six patients attended the day surgery unit at Worcestershire Royal Hospital along with their appointment letters, and had had nothing to eat or drink since midnight as requested.
On arrival no record could be found of their appointments, there were no beds for them and none of their medical records could be found.
It became obvious from overhearing the conversation of the staff behind the reception desk that the beds were already occupied.
I wonder what vanished first, the notes or the beds? Now all these six patients have got the anguish of waiting for another appointment, another spell of fasting, and hoping their problems are not serious or life threatening.
This letter is not aimed against nursing staff who were most caring and sympathetic, and in fact begged us to complain as, in their words, this is happening all the time.
