GOLF: Skipper Alan Sykes lifted the Droitwich Shield after Cleobury Mortimer's scratch team won a brilliant final against Wharton Park.
Tim Hall with Andy Greenhalgh and Joe Ferguson with Dean Carpenter both recorded wins.
Sykes and Jim Pearce lost their match but Cleobury ran out 2-1 winners overall in the winter foursomes knock-out competition.
Hall and Greenhalgh triumphed after a nervy start, pressing home their advantage on the 16th hole at Droitwich.
The Sykes and Pearce match did not go so well with the former breaking his six-iron.
But Ferguson and Carpenter clinched the decider, going four up by only the sixth hole before the opposition conceded on the 16th.
