TALENTED members of a Rubery group are gearing up for a two-day event showcasing the skills of silk painting.
The village's silk painting group is hosting the Guild of Silk Painters' National Festival, at Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings, in Stoke Heath, this weekend.
The Gardens of England Festival promises a varied programme of workshops that can be booked for this Saturday, together with an exhibition, trade stalls and competitions which will run from noon on Sunday.
Member Kay Morris said: "We have had considerable interest in our pre-booked workshop sessions and we are looking forward to welcoming visitors to our exhibition.
"I hope lots of people will use the opportunity to have a go at silk painting, which can be a very enjoyable and rewarding hobby."
Anyone seeking further information about the group or the festival can call Kay on 0121 453 8733 or Pat Connolly on 0121 453 4035.
Group members meet regularly at Rubery Youth and Community Centre, in New Road.
