A LOCAL history weekend is being held on Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday, May 5 & 6, from 11am to 4pm each day at Stanford Bishop Hall. It will cover the combined parishes of Acton Beauchamp, Evesbatch and Stanford Bishop and there will be displays of old local photographs, maps, records and documents; interesting artefacts discovered in the area and fascinating items of local memorabilia; also the 1880 census will be accessible on computer to search for ancestors over the whole of the country. Admission is £1.50 (children 50p) and there will be light refreshments available. Proceeds will go towards the St Giles Church Acton Beauchamp Building Restoration Fund.
