THE Liberal Democrats Focus election leaflet asks the question relative to the proposed sale of Elizabeth House and renting of premises elsewhere.
"Does it make sense to sell a building you own and pay rent for ever?" Of course it does not, but we shall not be renting for ever, maybe only for ten years or even less before the Government closes us down and amalgamates us with Warwick District Council to form a unitary authority. In these most probable circumstances the most cost effective solution of this difficult problem is to rent and keep the sale price of the present offices invested to bring in interest.
JOHN WINTERBURN (District councillor for Bardon Ward), Holbrook Road, Stratford.
PS I fine the present offices personally very convenient and will regret having to move elsewhere, but it has to be done.
