BIDFORD NEWS: The annual village quiz took place at the Crawford Hall last Friday. The vicar was question master and there were 15 teams taking part organised very efficiently by Pam Warwick and her gang. The overall winners were Bards Behind, a team from Stratford. The event benefited hall funds.

The Methodist bazaar on Saturday was well attended with many stalls including plants and, bric-a-brac; cakes and tea and coffee were available.

On the second Monday in June SCAN (Senior Citizens Action Group) is holding a question time with many notables including local councillors on hand to answer queries at the Methodist Hall at 10.30am.

On Saturday, May 18, Sheila Davis (cello) and Jill Morton (piano) will give a recital at St Lawrence's Church, an interesting collection of classical music is to be played.

The Thursday Boot Sale begins its summer season on May 4.

A circus is at present in the Big Meadow from today (Thursday) until Saturday giving daily performances.

The Jolly Teapot was again well supported last Thursday.

A wonderful garden show at Ragley had lots of interest for amateur and professional gardeners and a fine display of plants and entertainment.

The Community group meeting took place at the Methodist Hall and was well attended.

GARDENING SOCIETY: The March meeting was well attended, both by members and visitors from the other gardening clubs who came to see the Inter Club Horticultural Quiz. An amusing and entertaining quiz had been organised and was expertly run by Brian Cook from Moreton Morrell College. Each club had a team of three members and the questions were answered as a team. The winners were 1 Mickleton, 2 Ebrington, 3 Bretforton, 4 Blockley, 5 Bidford and 6 Longborough.

The next meeting at the Crawford Memorial Hall is tonight (Thursday) and is the Spring Show. Staging of exhibits is from 7-8pm and the show opens at 9pm.
