A WORCESTER company has been recognised for its successful growth strategy.

MacLennan plc was selected as AIM Company of the Year at the 2002 Growth Company Awards ceremony in London.

AIM is the Alternative Investment Market for small and emerging companies.

MacLennan Group plc, which has an office in Worcester's Enterprise House, and a base in Redditch, saw a rise in turnover for the year to December 31, 2001, to £124m. Pre-tax profits were £2.02m.

Growth Company Investor - a magazine focusing exclusively on smaller and fast-growing companies - designed the awards to acknowledge individual companies and the positive contributions of organisations associated with companies in the AIM sector.

Expertise

"MacLennan has been recognised for its successful growth strategy," said editor-in-chief Sara Williams.

The management teams of companies listed on AIM and OFEX - a secondary share trading market for unlisted and unquoted securities off-exchange in Britain - are asked to rate advisers on the level of overall service and general expertise in their sectors.

A shortlist of the top five organisations in each category is then assessed by a panel of independent judges.
