THE anticipated surge of applications to enter this year's Evesham Biathlon means there will be a feast of swimming and running action on Sunday, April 28.
The always popular annual event will get under way at Evesham Leisure Centre at 9am before competitors move on to the High School for the first runs on what will be a busy day for both competitors and organisers.
A new age group will see the youngest dual discipline athletes compete at the tender age of just eight with a 25m swim and 500m run.
The veterans will race over a 1000m course and a 50m swim with the main event for the 17 and over men taking part over a 3000m running course and a 300m swim.
Around 250 competitors have already indicated their willingness to test their stamina on the track and in the pool but there are still places available right up until the morning of the event.
