A MARVELLOUS demonstration of kart craft and race control saw James Calado to victory in Cumbria last weekend.

The Cropthorne youngster showed just why he was crowned British champion last season when he travelled north to race his 100cc Formula TKM at the Rowah Circuit.

Traditional changing weather conditions and a highly technical circuit presented many challenges to most competitors but Calado displayed the pedigree that has become his trademark.

The Vale racer put in a solid performance in all three heats to grab a front row position for the final.

By now the heavens had opened but Calado produced a spectacular overtaking manoeuvre at the first corner to take the lead.

He never looked back as he set about stringing together a succession of fastest lap times as he stormed to victory.
