HIGH-octane hits are set to be blasted out by a 70s disco band who have arranged a gig closer to home than usual to satisfy local demand.

Nightfever - two of whose members hail from Kidderminster - will take to the stage at the Robin Hood in Merry Hill on Thursday, May 9, with the promise "every song is a party anthem".

The band, who have been together for three years and have played with Rose Royce and Edwin Starr, aim to satisfy Kidderminster people keen to see them in action, with the Robin Hood the closest suitable venue.

Normally they travel all over the country, performing at places such as nightclubs and hotels for corporate clients, but are now aiming to build up a fanbase close to home.

The line-up boasts vocalist Tony Santino, guitarist Bobby G, bass player Andreas Garcia as well as Booty Lee Farnsworth on keyboards and drummer Frankie Pumper.

They promise "dynamic dance routines, soaring vocals and party-pumping basslines".

Hits from a range of artists including Kool and the Gang, the Jacksons, Sister Sledge and Chic are included in their set.

Nightfever can also be seen at the White Lion in Birmingham city centre on Saturday, April 20.
