The April speaker was Mrs E Booth, who told of her interest in canals and the families who lived on the boats. She showed her collection of ribbon plates.
Used to decorate cabins, the plates were mementoes of places visited, some from the reign of Queen Victoria, but also some featuring Queen Elizabeth II.
Rita Hill won the apple pie competition, with Janice Jones second and June Homer third. Diana Edwards won an Easter bonnet competition.
Jean Curry reported on the half-yearly council meeting, and Nadine Anderson reported on her Denman College bursary course on aromatherapy. Janice won this year's Denman bursary.
