The annual meeting was held in March, when the chairman stood down after three years in office.
The planting of the magnolia tree took place in Jubilee Gardens as part of the Millennium Project.
Future events, at which new members are welcome, include a visit to the Guide Dog Centre at Leamington Spa on April 30.
There will be a fashion show on May 24 and a birthday party on May 28, both at St Anne's Middle School.
A trip on Severn Valley Railway's "fish and chip" special is arranged for June, and the annual federation lunch is on July 29 at the Mill Hotel, Alveley.
The next meeting is on Tuesday, at St Anne's Middle School, starting at 7.30pm. the talk will be The History of the Canals by Mr Kettle. The competition will be for canal memorabilia.
