A MEMORIAL event for a former Kidderminster man and keen DJ raised more than £1,000 for Birmingham Children's Hospital.
Oliver Benton, 15, and his 12-year-old brother Louis were in action spinning the decks at Club Severn in Shrewsbury in memory of their father Dave, who died in a car accident last year.
The 37-year-old was from Kidderminster but lived in Shrewsbury with his partner, Helen, and two-year-old daughter, Olivia.
Oliver and Louis, who live with their mother Lisa in Hawfinch Rise, Kidderminster, used CD decks they had inherited from their father - a keen amateur DJ - at the event on April 1, the anniversary of his death.
The money, raised from ticket sales, donations and an auction, has now been counted with the total standing at £1,010.
Star DJs Brandon Block and Judge Jules donated signed CDs and photographs to be auctioned.
It was a "brilliant" night with more than 400 people - including a coachload from Kidderminster - attending, Lisa said.
