A YOUNGSTER from Kidderminster who fell down a rock face in a Wyre Forest beauty spot was airlifted to Worcestershire Royal Hospital after complaining of rib pain.
The 14-year-old from Church Walk was rescued by firefighters after he slid halfway down Pecketts Rock in Habberley Valley, suffering severe grazing to his stomach, arms and hands.
A friend from Stourbridge spoke to a passing couple who phoned for help. The accident happened at about 3pm on Monday.
Sylvia Fairbrother, who lives nearby, said she believed the youths may have been climbing up the sheer rock face.
"He slid down with his arms up and, as he was only wearing a T-shirt on top, suffered severe grazing," she added. The youth was transferred by air ambulance to hospital.
