GREAT perseverance and new players has helped Chaddesley Corbett escape from the foot of the Division One South table to a more respectable mid-table position.
Their cause was helped by a 3-2 home win over Bridgnorth Town Reserves on Saturday as outstanding football in the first 20 minutes effectively won the game.
Chaddesley's early dominance was rewarded with two goals from man-of-the-match Richard Burton.
The first was a back-post header from a Craig Pratt cross and the second a simple tap-in after good work by Ian Vogel.
Chaddesley allowed their visitors back into the game with slack marking giving Rich Lockley the chance to nod home.
In the second half, the Longmore outfit produced a fine rear-guard display with Matt Baynton in particular outstanding.
Bridgnorth keeper Chris Leith denied Vogel and Pratt with excellent saves though he was left helpless when Andy Shuck rose to head home.
The visitors pulled a goal back towards the end through Matt Clayworth.
Fixture, Saturday: Bridgnorth Town Reserves v Chaddesley (2pm, players to meet at The Railway Bell by 11am).
Squad: Anthony Shuck, Roberts, Baynton, Kilgour, Knight, B Burton, Webb, Phillips, R Burton, Pratt, Vogel, Andy Shuck, Birch, Baylis, Williams.
