YOUTH GAMES: Around 1,000 young sports fans will head to Wyre Forest for this year's Worcestershire Youth Games on Sunday, May 19.

Ten to 16-year-olds from six local authorities will be competing in seven different sports, including tag rugby, girls football, tennis and athletics.

Wyre Forest District Council is hosting the action which is backed by Sport England and Tescos.

The event will also reflect the Queen's Golden Jubilee and the Commonwealth Games in Manchester.

Children from each authority will parade the athletics track bearing the colours of their adopted country at the opening ceremony along with flag carriers and musicians.

And a Queen look-a-like will arrive by stretch limousine to officially open the games.

There will also be entertainers, tribute acts of S Club 7 and Robbie Williams, a Lara Croft and Xena Warrior Princess, face painters and a bouncy castle.
