OVER the past weeks, I have read with great sadness, the letters condemning the possibility of an Asylum base in Throckmorton.

I live in the centre of Evesham - most evenings I have to contend with young people urinating, vomiting, swearing and screaming abuse in the street where I live.

These are our children, English children.

Asylum seekers do not wish to leave their homes.

They are driven out through fear and terror. Who are we to say 'not on my patch'? Who gives us the right to say 'go away'?

We are all on this tiny planet for a very short space of time.

How can we ever hope to have a peaceful World if we cannot respect each other - whatever our nationality?

I welcome any opportunity to help those in need. It gives my life a sense of purpose.

The only thing we should really fear, is fear itself.
