BRITISH LEGION WOMEN'S SECTION: Held their April meeting in the Betteridge Room. Members conveyed their congratulations to Miss Emma Kearsey, branch and county standard bearer, on winning the West Regional title and being honoured to take part in the escorting of the Queen Mother's coffin to Westminster Hall.
Pauline Smith gave an interesting and humorous talk and displayed a wide range of her flower collage. Pauline was thanked by Mrs Kearsey. Hostesses for the evening were Mrs A Clark, Mrs T Holder and Mrs M Gregg. Monthly prize was won by Mrs M Bright.
Next meeting May 8, when the speaker will be Lesley O'Connell Edwards on hand spinning. Hostesses Mrs P Holder, Mrs A Crowther and Mrs D Harris.
